MUKONO district council has passed a sh31b budget for the financial year 2004/2005.
The LC5 secretary for finance and planning, Keefa Kaweesa, presented the budget estimates at the council community hall last Tuesday. Mukono RDC Deo Nsereko, MP Buikwe North Wagonda Muguli and the LC5 chairman, Godfrey Ddamulira (right), attended.
He said the council anticipates to get over sh1b from the unconditional grant and sh780m from graduated tax.
Councillors Steven Musoke and Wasswa Katono led others in seconding the passing of the budget estimates.
Kaweesa said sh53m from the local government development programme funds was re-allocated to roads. “We are improving on tax administration especially in tax enumeration, assessment collection and dissemination of financial information to sub-counties,” he said.
