Aporu kings fall in Kumi

NAIROBI City Council beat Kakamega Police in an all-Kenyan final Sunday to take home the men’s trophy in the Aporu Okol memorial tournament at Kumi Boma grounds.

NAIROBI City Council beat Kakamega Police in an all-Kenyan final Sunday to take home the men’s trophy in the Aporu Okol memorial tournament at Kumi Boma grounds.

Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) came third.

Kumi residents were treated to outstanding performances that mixed power and fineness during the entire tournament and especially when Nairobi CC scored a convincing 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Kakamega Police.

Minister of state for disaster preparedness Christine Aporu, graced the 12th edition of the tournament in memory of her late husband, Dr Aporu Okol. The event attracted six foreign teams and 30 local ones.
