Over 480 Universal Primary Education pupils will miss classes after Bundibugyo district health officials yesterday closed Bundikuyali Primary School over lack of toilets.

The health inspector of Bwamba county, Francis Ndahura, in a statement to the chief administrative officer said the school lacked toilets, forcing pupils to litter the compound and nearby plantations with faeces.

Mayor calls foreign clergy
KAMPALA mayor John Sebaana Kizito has asked foreign religious leaders to come to Uganda and pray for an end to the Lord’s Resistance Army rebellion in the north.
Sebaana said this yesterday while meeting the Mayor of the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, USA Mary Manross, at City Hall.
Manross was making a report on the visit of pastor David Hodgson to Uganda to assist children in the north.

Police kills city suspect
A suspected robber was shot dead while two of his colleagues escaped during a Police operation at the Centenary Park in Kampala yesterday.

The park is reportedly infested with pickpockets and other criminals.

Kampala Police chief Benson Oyo Nyeko said the suspect was killed as he attempted to escape.
“We are trying to establish his identity and that of his colleagues,” Nyeko said.
