A woman lost limbs and many other passengers were severely injured in an accident involving four vehicles on Hoima Road in Wakiso district recently.

A woman lost limbs and many other passengers were severely injured in an accident involving four vehicles on Hoima Road in Wakiso district recently.
The central region Police chief, Grace Turyagumanawe, said the unidentified woman was injured in a road accident at Naluvule at 8:40am on Friday.
He said most of the injured had been admitted to Wakiso health centre, adding that a hit-and-run vehicle trying to overtake, triggered off the crash.
Turyagumanawe said the pile-up began with a Kampala-bound omnibus from Hoima, registration number UAF 776F, which collided with another, registration number UAE 623L that was heading to Wakiso from Kampala.
He said two more vehicles, UAB 502T and YAE 956M, all from Kampala to Wakiso, ploughed into the wreckage.
“There was an element of recklessness,” Turyaguma
nawe said.
He said the Police was still investigating the cause of the accident.
Turyagumanawe added that they were trying to ascertain the number of casualties.
