THE Omukama of Bunyoro, Rukirabasaija Agutamba Solomon Iguru, has urged cultural institutions to help the Government and academicians promote the reading culture in Uganda, reports Denis Ocwich.

“It is our duty to launch a sustained campaign to articulate the culture of reading,” Iguru said on Wednesday at the Constitutional Square during the 9th Uganda International Book Fair.

Accompanied by his wife, Omugo Margaret Karunga, Iguru toured the book stands and officially launched the children’s reading tent.

He urged the National Book Trust of Uganda (NABOTU), which organised the festival, to extend the event countrywide. NABOTU chief James Tumusiime attended.
