<b>Conductor fined</b><br>KABAROLE — Fort Portal grade one magistrate Jamson Karemani on Tuesday fined a taxi conductor sh300,000 for carrying excess passengers.

KABAROLE — Fort Portal grade one magistrate Jamson Karemani on Tuesday fined a taxi conductor sh300,000 for carrying excess passengers. Karemani said prosecution had proved to court that Jackson Friday, the conductor of a Toyota Hiace vehicle number UAD 779J, committed the offence on July 17 on the Fort Portal-Kasese road.

WFP counts displaced
LIRA — The World Food Programme (WFP) has embarked on fresh registration of displaced persons in the district to obtain data for proper management of aid distribution. WFP officer Gilbert Buzu recently said the exercise followed information that some of the displaced had returned to their homes.

Students warned
LIRA — Candidates have been cautioned against examination malpractices in the forth-coming national examinations, lest their results be cancelled. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) centre supervisor, Mark Adimo, recently issued the warning, saying students should be honest.
