FUFA risks prosecution on November 9, unless they clear one Cissy Nakimera’s sh3.4m.

The debt arises out of catering services, Nakimera offered national teams Kobs and Cranes players, in 1999 and 2000 respectively.

Kobs was in residential training, preparing for the Olympic Games qualifiers, while the senior players, were preparing for the Nations Cup.

High Court’s Justice Aweri Opio fixed the hearing of the case, after FUFA dilly-dallied with settling the four-year- old debt.

FUFA had pleaded with court to stay the hearing of the case, as it looked for money to clear the debt.

After FUFA, yet again, failed to beat the September 17 deadline, Justice Opio has now fixed the hearing for November 9.
This was after FUFA’s lawyer, Edison Ruyondo, failed to show up in court prompting Nakimera’s lawyer, Joseph Kiryowa, to lose his patience, and chose to battle legally.

A September 28 notice to FUFA by the the court’s deputy registrar, Godfrey Namundi, warns that “if no appearance is made, the case will be heard and decided in your absence”.
