— MPs on the works, transport and communications committee want the National Housing and Constru-ction Corporation to explain recent complaints on the sale of flats. The MPs yesterday said the public complained that the condominium law under which the sales were implemented, was not followed. Wambuzi Gagawala said there was rumour that the lease for some flats had expired.

UPC MPs meet
KAMPALA
— Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) MPs yesterday met the party’s Presidential Policy Commission chairman, Dr. James Rwanyarare, to discuss the White Paper at Uganda House. Samia Bugwe North MP Aggrey Awori told the UPC weekly press briefing that the meeting reviewed the White Paper to incorporate their views.

— Parliament Speaker Edward Ssekandi has officially announced Bamunanika Constit-uency in Luweero vacant. Ssekandi on Tuesday said former agriculture minister Dr. Wilberforce Kisamba Mugerwa had officially relinquished the seat.

— The district NAADS coordinator, Paul Mwambu, has asked sub- county coordinators not to frustrate President Yoweri Museveni’s plan to modernise agriculture. He said this recently at the hand-over of four motorcycles to the sub-county coordinators.
