UGANDAN golfers will have to forget the misery they suffered at the MTN Uganda Open to salvage some pride at the East African Challenge.

The 72-hole match play Challenge starts today with a singles round at the Kitante course.
A foursomes round and a four-ball better-ball round will be played tomorrow. Action will end on Wednesday with another singles round.

Today's action comes after yesterday's flag raising event at Kitante, also venue for the Uganda Open that ended on Saturday.

Uganda, looking at a second win after success at the same course in 2001, is up against holders Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.

“We have to do something at the Challenge, it is all over in this event,” Godfrey Mande said.

Mande made the vow after the home players' disastrous display at the Uganda Open.
Action starts at 8.30am.
