Separates have taken the fashion industry by storm. The magic behind separates is that one can create an illusion of having a big wardrobe. With separates one can mix and match various outfits.

It is time to give the dress the place it deserves in the world of your wardrobe. Dresses create a special look of femininity which other outfits lack.

For something practical, for example for the office, go for shades like black, brown, orange and blue. Simple short sleeves will do for the office.

A shift dress is very practical and it gives a good fitting. The dress should hang comfortably on your feminine shape.

Something comfortable should not be too tight or hang like a tent. Settle for something that flatters you. Get a fashion designer who will help you create a rich wardrobe of dresses.

The fashion designer can play around with the sleeves or make a sleeveless shift.

Latest trends show that assymmetrical hemlines are in so you can opt for this too. The uneven look gives one an aura of elegance with the soft fabric flowing down comfortably. Something just below the knee will look great and appropriate for your office wardrobe.

Chiffon is a very popular feminine fabric that can be worn to parties and to work. The short-sleeved dress with a symmetrical hemline is great for work. Such a dress, depending on the print, could be perfect for a party too.

Dark colours like navy blue and black have a slimming effect. Light and soft colours like baby pink and sky blue are perfect when one wants to emphasise their femininity.

To enhance your look with a businesslike appearance, team your plain coloured dress with a printed jacket and pair of high heels. High heels give the wearer an elegant sway that low heels cannot do for you.

For that elegant evening out the dress is the timeless option for optimum elegance. You can never go wrong with the dress. It is a matter of creativity and how you accessorise it that brings out the woman in you.

For my sister’s wedding where l was maid of honour, l prepared what to wear together with Santa Anzo, a fashion designer. The outcome was a halter neck, full-length maroon evening dress with gold trimmings. It worked like magic. I finally got the perfect picture of elegance befitting of a wedding. Ladies, celebrate the dress!
