SADOLIN Power avenged for two defeats by Falcons in the regular season by beating them in the opening game of the MTN basketball league playoff semifinals.

Wilbrod Oketcho spearheaded Power’s attack with 12 points and 14 rebounds as his team eased to a deserved 77-64 victory over Falcons to claim a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three playoff semifinals.

Power team also blocked 10 shots, seven by man-of-the-match, David Kiberu.
“They’re a great team and we were lucky to have limited them to only 64 points. Defence is the key, that’s how we’re also going to win game-two,” coach Peter Mubanda said.

Meanwhile, Josephine Namayega
scored 15 points and Agnes Nantongo added nine to spur A-1 to a 1-0 lead in the women’s best-of-three series.
