Mukono district chairman Godfrey Ddamulira has banned classes conducted beyond 6:00pm and night lessons in boarding schools beyond 10:00pm in UPE schools.
He said the extended lessons put the pupils’ lives at risk because some of them trek long distances back home.
“Studying up to 6:00pm should stop with immediate effect,†he said while addressing pupils, teachers and parents at Kisowera Primary School in Nama sub-county recently.
