TWO Ugandans are wanted in connection with robbery of a Tanzanian bank.
The suspects have been in detention in Uganda after they were arrested by the Violent Crime Crack-down Unit a month ago.
About Tzsh5.3b (sh10b) was robbed from Tanzania’s National Bank of Commerce.
The Tanzanian director of public prosecution has written to the Uganda government to hand over the suspects for trial in Tanzania.
The letter, addressed to Attorney general Amama Mbabazi, identified the suspects as Charles malomero and shaban Wayobona, all of Mbale.
Mbabazi applied to the Nakawa Court for an order to hand over the suspects.
The suspects’ lawyers, however, said the right procedure for the order had not been followed.
The chief magistrate, Margaret Mafabi, gave the State up to today to use the right procedures.
