KAMPALA — Local artiste Jose Chameleon (above) is threatened with arrest for snubbing summons over a motor accident in which he knocked a police officer. Buganda Road magistrate Emmanuel Baguma ordered Chameleon’s arrest yesterday. Baguma directed the Police to arrest Chameleon by tomorrow, since he had defied orders to appear in court since May, when the summons was issued.

Man charged
KAMPALA — A 23-year-old man has been charged with theft of a pistol and 12 bullets. Moses Bukenya, a car washer at Bugolobi Bamboo Nest, appeared before Nakawa Court Chief Magistrate Margaret Mafabi yesterday and denied the charge. Prosecution said he committed the offence on November 10 at Bugolobi.

Sh2m debt
KAMPALA — A city businesswoman is facing arrest and civil imprisonment, unless she pays over sh2m as legal fees for her lawyer. Freda Nanziri Mubanda is being sought by a bailiff, who is under court orders to arrest her and take her to civil prison, for failure to pay sh2,035,000 to Luswata-Kibanda and Company Advocates.
