HE is in jail and out of business, but Patrick Kasulu told court yesterday that he was in position to settle all his debts running in millions of shillings, report Stephen Muwambi and Edward Anyoli.
“I have the means to settle the claims of my clients. I have a lot of property which I am ready to dispose of or exchange with my clients to settle the claims,” a confident Kasulu told Buganda Road Chief magistrate Margaret Tibulya.
Kasulu asked Tibulya to put off the hearing of his cases, so that, “I can have time to negotiate with my clients. I cannot do so if I keep coming to court every now and then,” said a groomed Kasulu.
To show he was serious, Kasulu had yesterday’s hearing against him put off, after a London-based Judith Nakityo told Tibulya that the estate dealer had offered to refund her sh48 before the year ended.
Kasulu sold Nakityo a non-available house at Ntinda, between December and July this year, saying the owner, Nathan Bigirwa, had consented to the sale.
“ Kasulu has assured me that he will pay me. I want to give him a chance to make the payment,” Nakityo said.
If he does not pay by December 26, then hearing will go on,” she added.
