DESPITE crashing his powerful Subaru Impreza in Rwanda at the weekend, Riyaz Kurji is keen on retaining his Champion’s Sprint title.

Kurji’s mechanics are working around the clock to have this Mitsubishi Evo7 ready for the sprint scheduled for December 12 at Lubiri. Emma Katto rolled Kurji’s Mitsubishi in the TOTAL Pearl of Africa rally in September.

“Boss (Kurji) can’t miss the sprint. The (Mitsubishi) Evo7 will definitely roar at Lubiri,” an Alpha Rally Team source said.

The Subaru Impreza group N-10 that Kurji wrecked in the Millie Colin rally will be flown back to Pro-drive in United Kingdom for repair.

The sprint has so far attracted 22 drivers including Charles Muhangi.
