A piped water project worth sh2b has been approved for Iganga town council, assistant town clerk batwawula Musasizi has said.

He said the African Development Bank-sponsored project would start this month.

Batwawula was addressing the press at his office on Wednesday.
He said the Directorate of Water Development and the water ministry had given the council up to November 30 to acquire land for the project.

Batwawula said a new sewage system would also be put in place, raising the total cost to sh8b. He said the project would take one year.

He said the water would be connected from Jinja to Iganga.
