The children in the Uganda Women’s Effort to Save the Orphans (UWESO) home in Masuulita had their Christmas last Wednesday. The children sang and displayed a number of dances, including one from Rwanda, which captivated many of their guests. Besides, entertainment was provided by Coca-Cola popstars, Blu*3.
The entourage from Kampala was led by the Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity, Timothy Lwanga. Lwanga said, “It is good to encourage children this way. Children should not lose hope. They should be shown that they are loved. Love also brings success and wealth.” He thanked Coca-Cola for its contribution to the children’s welfare. The children all received gifts, include Coca-Cola school bags. One even bagged a scholarship to St Michael’s Secondary School, Mukono. Also present were Coca-Cola managing director, Ndema Rukandema, UWESO’s Marcella Mukasa, Mrs Camille Aliker, retiring and in-coming executive directors Sheeba Rukikaire and Susan Kajura.
