Mukono town council will be granted municipality status next year, LC3 chairman Johnson Muyanja has said.
He said the town had schools and medical centres. Muyanja was commissioning Mukono Resort Hotel on Sunday.

A speeding trailer knocked a man dead at Butebe zone in Mukono on Saturday.
District CID chief Charles Nuwareeba said the trailer was heading to Jinja. The dead was identified as Steven Suuna.
