The Amnesty Commission invites applications to fill the following vacancies at its Headquarters on Plot 97, Buganda Road. The posts indicated below will be filled on contract basis for an initial period of six months renewable.

The Amnesty Commission invites applications to fill the following vacancies at its Headquarters on Plot 97, Buganda Road. The posts indicated below will be filled on contract basis for an initial period of six months renewable.1. POST: PRINCIPAL PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (1 vacancy)SALARY: Uganda Government scale U2AGE: 35 - 50 yearsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be Ugandans holding an honours degree in Social Sciences or Arts or Mass Communication plus a post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from a recognised University or Institution.WORKING EXPERIENCE: Applicants should have at least 6 years working experience in Public Relations or related work experience.DUTIES: The successful candidate will be responsible to the Secretary, Amnesty Commission for performing the following duties:- Liaising with members of the Commission to identify priority areas in public relations exercise- Advising on policy issues relating to information flow and gathering to and from the public- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.2. Post: Senior Personal Secretary (1 Vacancy)Salary: Uganda Government Scale U3Age: 35-50 years.Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should be Ugandans with:(i) UNEB ordinary level certificate with at least 2 credits including English Language and 3 passes.(ii) UNEB certificate or Diploma in secretarial Studies or equivalent qualifications from recognized institution in the following subjects:-(a) Business Communication III(b) Typing Stage III (50 w.p.m)(c) Short hand stage II (80/90 w.p.m)(d) Office Management(iii) Computer skill using general packages like word processing, spread sheet and data base management.Working experience: At least 3 years experience at the level of personal secretary.Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible to the Chairman Amnesty Commission- Take dictation and transcribe into accurate typing- Receiving and dispatch of correspondence- Make appointments for the supervisor- Carry out any other work as may be given by the supervisor3. Post: Personal Secretary (1 vacancy)Salary: Uganda Government Scale U4Minimum qualifications: Applicants should be Ugandans with:(i) UNEB ordinary level certificates with at least 2 credits including English and 3 passes.(ii) UNEB certificate or Diploma in secretarial Studies or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution in the following subjects:-(a) Business Communication stage III(b) Type writing stage III (50 w.p.m)(c) Short hand stage II (80/90 w.p.m)(d) Office Management(iii) Computer skills using word processing.Working experience:At least 3 years experience at the level of a stenographer secretary.Duties:The successful candidate will be responsible to the Secretary Amnesty Commission- Take dictation and transcribe into accurate typing- Receiving and dispatching of correspondence- Make appointments- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisorAddressing the applications:Those interested in the above post should forward their applications to the following address:The SecretaryAmnesty Commission P.O.
