Busia disabled protest SRPS brutality

People with disabilities doing business along the border in Busia last Wednesday mobbed the resident district commissioner, Mr Nyombi Tembo, to protest against the violent nature of the Special Revenue Protection Service personnel (SRPS) in the district.

By Egessa Hajusu People with disabilities doing business along the border in Busia last Wednesday mobbed the resident district commissioner, Mr Nyombi Tembo, to protest against the violent nature of the Special Revenue Protection Service personnel (SRPS) in the district.Over 100 PWDs stormed the RDC’s office and complained that president Yoweri Museveni allowed them to do business but his soldiers have become a menace to their trade.They said 15 of their colleagues were seriously assaulted last year and were all hospitalised at Tanaka hospital in Kenya. Nyombi Tembo assured them that his office will ensure they are given special treatment.
