Mayuge CAO Directed To Declare Namumbya Winner

Mayuge district Chief Administrative Officer Danstan Balaba has been directed to declare Sarah Namumbya the district chairperson, reports Moses Nampala.The Electoral Commission acting Public Relations Officer, Teddy Mogote, on Tuesday said the order, that takes immediate effect, was made after the academic qualifications for Bakali Tigawalana, the incumbent, could not meet the UNEB standards.Namumbya, the former Woman MP for Iganga, and Tigawalana were the only contestants for the district chairperson.“We are trying to make an official arrangement to effect the measure forthwith. The academic qualifications of Mr Tigawalana Bakali could not satisfy the commission,” Mugote said. When the new Vision visited Mayuge town on Wednesday, the sound of drums could be heard from Namumbya’s home.Ends
