By E-mail I am told that Saida Kaloli, the Tanzanian singer, is as big a star in London as in Kampala. Rasta Rob has been playing her tune Maria Salome since the start of the year and it has been sending the Ugandans wild. Amongst the ‘wild things’ are Rasta Rob’s brother Raymond, the Lutaaya girls and many others. The only thing unlike us Ugandans they still call it Wanchekecha.
