Boy injured by strange animal in Fort Portal

A FIVE-year-old boy has been referred to Mulago hospital with injuries he sustained when a strange beast attacked him on the evening of January 16, at Harukooto in Fort portal.

By Frederick Nyakabwa A FIVE-year-old boy has been referred to Mulago hospital with injuries he sustained when a strange beast attacked him on the evening of January 16, at Harukooto in Fort portal.Joseph Lwanga son of Bosco Bbosa was rushed to Mucwa clinic in Fort portal for treatment against tetanus and rabies. When there was no sign of improvement, he was referred to Mulago hospital. The same beast is said to have sometime back attacked and injured a 23- -year-old woman Sarah Kaganda. She has been responding to treatment in Fort portal.A councillor from Harukooto village Mr. Wasswamooti said the village is gripped with fear and panic because of the incidents.Reports also indicated that the strange animal attacks dogs and goats. Uganda Wildlife Authority has been contacted and promised to go and hunt the animal. Local efforts in the village to trap and kill it have failed .
