Nebbi to get 500m/- building

A THREE-storey office block worth sh475m is to be constructed in Nebbi town, creating more office space for the district administration, the mayor has said.Mr. Ogwech said the venture was a milestone in the town’s fight for municipality status soon. He said the town boundary had been expanded.In an interview with The New Vision in his office last week, Ogwech said he has been a mayor for the last 10 years.He said when he came into office, they were renting an office block from the late Mavenjina, husband to the former minister of state for public service, Catherine Akumu Mavenjina.He said the town lacked a road network and had just a handful of houses along the main road. He said the town now has several roads and that by the end of 2002, over 36km road network would be completed.He said the expansion of the town boundary would boost the revenue base of the council.
