THE Hedex East Africa Super cup scheduled for February 2 in Mwanza has been postponed until Tanzanian representatives are determined, organisers disclosed here yesterday.

By Reuben Olita in NairobiTHE Hedex East Africa Super cup scheduled for February 2 in Mwanza has been postponed until Tanzanian representatives are determined, organisers disclosed here yesterday.Tony Ndetto of Golden Marketing said a date for the event featuring Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania cup winners will be communicated by February 5.The rescheduling of the regional finals followed the hospitalisation of 13 Kariakoo players in a Dar es Salaam hospital suffering from typhoid infection.The Football Association of Tanzania had tentatively fixed the one leg final between Kariakoo and Mlandege for Saturday in Dar es Salaam.“FAT has up to February 5 to determine Tanzanian winners so that we can agree on the dates for the EA finals,” said Ndetto.In Kenya, army club, Ulinzi Stars lifted the cup for the first time and Ksh1m prize when they beat Sony Sugar 1-0 in the return leg encounter at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Sunday.Ulinzi had been held to a goalless draw in the first leg in Awendo last Wednesday.Tanzania winners will join Ulinzi and Uganda's Express in the three-team finals earmarked for CCM Kirumba stadium.The lucrative championship is sponsored by Glaxo SmithKline.Meanwhile, SC Villa's likely opponents in the second round of the African Champions league, Oserian Fastac of Kenya and Ethiopia's Electricity clash Saturday in Nairobi in the first leg of their preliminary match.Oserian and Electricity are also pitted with Villa in the same group of the CECAFA clubs cup in Zanzibar February 17-March 4.Oserian have withdrawn from the event citing KFF's failure to pay them Ksh316,000 owed to them.ends
