By Phillip CorryEAST or West, home’s always best. Express FC is returning to it’s ancestral home, Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, come the beginning of this football season.Express chairman Godfrey Kirumira said the club is moving back to Wankulukuku this season. The move will be completed after they have finished upgrading the stadium.“We are going to move back to our ancestral home this season,” Kirumira told Express fans at Wankulukuku on Saturday as they celebrated last season success that saw them win two titles. “We are still doing some upgrading work at the stadium, but once it is complete we shall move.”Express’ home ground was banned May 4, 2000 for crowd violence. The club had been held to a scoreless draw and fans beat up referee Abdul Kayiwa alleging foul officiation. But the re-use of Wankulukuku as Express home ground depends on whether the National Football League Committee (NFLC) will lift that ban.At the same function, club board of trustees vice president Hajji Abbas Kangave, urged Express fans to be united if they want the club to progress this season.“The problem with our fans is that they always think they know everything. This is what is killing the club,” Kangave said. “If you have your own opinions, why don’t you contact the executive?”Kangave also advised Express chairman to have confidence in himself if he is to steer the club to greater heights. Express has in the last two months won six trophies and has vowed to win the league this season. The grand party was presided over by Prince Kassim Nakibinge and ex-Express players who were handed certificates for their dedicated services to the club.Nakibinge presented the club with sh2m as a family appreciation for winning the Kakungulu Cup. The tournament is named in memory of late Prince Badru Kakungulu, Nakibinge’s father.ends
