Ziritwawula Vows To Overtake Ssebaana

WASSWA Ziritwawula has said that he would overtake his rival, Mayor John Ssebaana Kizito by Thursday and win the mayoral race. Edris Kisambira writes that Ziritwawula was reacting to The New Vision opinion poll that showed his rival, Mayor Ssebaana leading with 59%.“Even if it’s a true reflection of what the voters think, by the end of the campaigns, we shall have overtaken them,” Ziritwawula said in reaction to the results of the poll which sampled 500 respondents and was carried out in the five divisions that make up Kampala. The poll revealed that of the registered voters who were interviewed, 59% would vote for incumbent Ssebaana while 41% said they would cast their vote in favour of Ziritwawula.Moses Byaruhanga, the presidential principal private secretary for political affairs, said The New Vision opinion poll “left out boda-boda cyclists, wheelbarrow pushers and other wanainchi.”Ends
