10 deadKITGUM — At least 10 people died in motor accidents and 70 sustained injuries last year. The district officer in-charge of traffic, Jovan Ondia said 48 of the 70 injuries were serious injuries while 22 were minor.

The district officer in-charge of traffic, Jovan Ondia said 48 of the 70 injuries were serious injuries while 22 were minor. Ondia said 67 suspects were arrested for the accidents. He said 64 suspects were prosecuted.-----------Condom useGULU — The district condom focal person, John Opwonya, has said 731,464 condoms were used from January to December last year. He recently told The New Vision that condom use is on the increase because people are aware that it can prevent the spread of AIDS.-----------Malaria fightGULU — The Australia Children’s Christian Fund on Thursday distributed over 540 treated mosquito nets worth sh5.4m to families to combat malaria. The nets were given under a sh10m malaria control programme. The beneficiaries were Oguru, Paicho and Coo-pil sub-counties.
