SEVERAL multipartyists including the chairman, Ben Olwa, have swept LC5 seats in Apac district in the recently concluded elections, reports Patrick Opio.

SEVERAL multipartyists including the chairman, Ben Olwa, have swept LC5 seats in Apac district in the recently concluded elections, reports Patrick Opio.The LC5 candidates fielded by the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) committee beat their opponents which gives them over 90% of district council. This has broken a record in Apac which is known as the Movement district in the Langi and Acholi sub-regions.The returning officer, George Bua, said the elections were peaceful. “The elections were free and fair. they were also peaceful despite a few cases of hooliganism during the campaigns,” he said. The newly elected councillors include Ojok Orukubade and Johnson Engole for Chawente and Loro sub-counties, Michael Edule (Balla), Peter Ocen (Akalo), and Eddie Ogwang (Loro woman representative).
