By Emmanuel Mulondo The Irish government has committed sh300m for funding education in Kyenjojo district.The Charge D’Affaires at the Irish embassy in Uganda, Martin O’Fanine and William Kaija, the Kyenjojo district chairman, signed the memorandum of understanding under which the money is to be disbursed.The ceremony took place at Kasina hall on Wednesday. In a message read by O’Fanine, the ambassador said his government’s commitment to the improvement of the education sector in Uganda was a priority.Kaija assured the envoy that the money would be committed to the work for which it has been given. He said being a new district, Kyenjojo was in dire need of teaching materials as well as teachers and classrooms.Present at the function was the Chief Administrative Officer, Owen Muhenda Rujumba, other district councillors and technical staff.According to the recently released Primary Leaving Examinations results, Kyenjojo was among the worst performing districts.
