MBIFCT wishes to fill the post of Trust Accountant. MBIFCT is an organisation which is devoted to the conservation of the biological diversity in the two National Parks in the South-West of Uganda, the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The principal strategy of MBIFCT is to work with the communities who live close to the two parks through provision of grants with an intention of reducing dependency on the protected areas. The operational arm of MBIFCT is the Trust Administrative Unit (TAU) which is based in Kabale. The TAU reports to the Trust Management Board (TMB) that is supported by a Local Community Steering Committee (LCSC) and a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).DutiesUnder the supervision of the Trust Administrator, the Accountant will be responsible for: - Maintaining books and financial words for all the activities and operations of TAU- Ensuring that payments are valid and genuine and fit within approved budgets, plans and programmes- Proper tracking of all payment receipts and disbursements for activities and projects funded by the Trust- Producing monthly, bi-annual and annual expenditure reports for the TMB and donors- Assisting the Project Officers in training project holders in budgeting and accounting- Advising the Trust Administrator on the performance of the Capital Endowment Fund- Assisting in the management of MBIFCT's assetsSpecific requirements A Degree in accounting with professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ACA etc. Knowledge of a computerised accounting package is essential. A good track record as an Accountant with an NGO is required. Duty Station will be Kabale/Project area.
