AT LEAST 2,000 war victims have been treated and operated by doctors working with Isis-WICCE in Teso region.

By Kenneth OtimAT LEAST 2,000 war victims have been treated and operated by doctors working with Isis-WICCE in Teso region.Speaking during a party at Hilda’s Café in Soroti, Dr. Charles Tom Otim, a gynaecologist, said 83 patients had been operated and 26 others were to undergo major operations.He said 795 patients had been treated in Soroti and another 963 in Kumi.Otim said, “Cancer of the womb, lower abdominal pain, and uterus coming out from the private parts are the common diseases that we discovered among our patients.”Isis-WICCE is a women international cross-cultural exchange organisation that advocates gender sensitisation.Ends
