CUTTING off aid to Uganda by Denmark has affected the application of tarmac on the Kyegegwa-Kyenjojo road, the Kabarole District Woman MP, Beatrice Kiraso, has said.

CUTTING off aid to Uganda by Denmark has affected the application of tarmac on the Kyegegwa-Kyenjojo road, the Kabarole District Woman MP, Beatrice Kiraso, has said.Fredrick Nyakabwa reports that Kiraso was addressing a gathering during celebrations to mark the International Women’s Day at Nyakagongo Primary School in East Division in Fort Portal.The celebrations for Kabarole District had been postponed from March 8 to March 23. The theme was, ‘Break the Silence and Stop Domestic Violence.’News about the the road sent shock waves among the people at the celebrations who spent some minutes in silence in disbelief as the message sunk. Kiraso said there was pressure from the donor community on Uganda’s forces to quit DR Congo. She said alleged corruption in the country was another reason why Denmark cut aid to Uganda.Ends
