A GROUP of rebels from the defunct National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU), have expressed their wish to surrender.

Rebels SurrenderBy John Thawite A GROUP of rebels from the defunct National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU), have expressed their wish to surrender.The Rwenzori Mountains Alpine Brigade Commander, Adula Muhindo Mawa said they had written to him expressing their willingness to give up rebellion and return home.A group led by a Karimojong, said their situation was intolerable and that they found the bush war useless,” Mawa disclosed at his brigade’s tactical base.He was briefing the press recently, on the current status of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in the Rwenzori region.Mawa said he had written to the group and had assured them of security when they returned home.He was flanked by the former ADF chief of staff, Chris Tushabe alias Commander Benz and several UPDF officers.He introduced a 15-year-old former pupil of Hamukungu Primary School, Kasese, who was kidnapped by the rebels last year.The girl was the wife of one of the three top rebel leaders killed in eastern DRC late last week.Ends
