In his Easter message to the nation, Wamala said, “We learn that they have come to a mutual understanding on some steps to address the rebel activities in the region.It is the hope of everyone that the move will not bring more suffering to the already suffering people of southern Sudan. We also pray that the efforts of both leaders lead to a lasting solution.â€In his six-minute address to the press at his residence in Rubaga, Kampala, Wamala regretted the reports which he said continue to disturb peace-loving Ugandans.“Kony’s rebels continue to loot, destroy, abduct people and kill our soldiers and civilians. The question all of us are asking, How long is this situation going to last?†he asked.He urged the public to develop a culture of sharing with the poor and to continue with it throughout the Easter celebrations.The Cardinal thanked Christians for enduring the 40-day journey of Lent, saying it was for conversion and renewal to move closer to God.Ends
