By Eddie Ssejjoba THE West Buganda bishop, Dr. Keefa Kamya Ssemakula, has expresesd his support for the execution of the two UPDF soldiers who were recently convicted for killing an Irish priest in Kotido. In his Easter message from Bexhill Secondary School in Kamutuuza, Masaka on Friday, Ssemakula said Pte. Abdalla Mohammed and Cpl. James Omedio deserved the punishment. He said such measures would protect civilians from the brutality of armed personnel. He said if such criminal acts were not checked, Ugandans would be taken back to the cruel days of the former dictatorial regimes of Amin and Obote when people were butchered by soldiers without any justified cause.Ssemakula said if there was enough evidence pinning the soldiers to the crime, the punishment accorded to them was appropriate.Catholic Church leaders said the execution violated Bible teachings. ends
