By Martin KiizaUGANDA Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) officials recently rescued an African-Rock python, a rare species of snake in Africa.Lifting the four-meter long, black and brown spotted python, UWEC animal headkeeper Edward Kabagyo said the snake was valuable to wildlife conservation.Kabagyo was recently addressing children during their education day at UWEC in Entebbe.He said the python was being treated at the centre.Kabagyo warned the public against harassing animals.“The snake now named “Big male was found being stoned by residents of Nansana and we had to save it,” he told the children.He said the python that weighs about four kilograms was harmless to the public.Ends
