THE new Kyenjojo district council has been sworn in with chairman William Kaija promising transparency and equitability in resource distribution.

By Emmanuel MulondoTHE new Kyenjojo district council has been sworn in with chairman William Kaija promising transparency and equitability in resource distribution.The colourful function performed by Chief Magistrate Praf Rutakirwa and presided over by state minister for international co-operation Tom Butime took place at the district headquarters at Kasina.Kaija promised timely accountability and warned that anyone who embezzled funds would be dealt with.He said high on his agenda was fighting poverty through expansion of agriculture. Butime handed over a copy of the 1995 Constitution, the Local Government Act, the Local Government Finance and Accounting Regulations and a symbolic key as instruments of power.He called upon the people to start income generating activities.Ends
