Man Jailed 10 Years For Raping Mother

By Peregrine Otonga A 27-year old man was on last week sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping his step mother.The High Court in Lira presided over by Augustine Kania found Jimmy Okeng guilty of raping a woman of Amulaker village, Bardyang parish, Agwata sub-county in Lira district on November, 21 1999.Prosecution led by A. Sserwada proved that Okeng exploited a marriage ceremony at his mother’s home to rape his step-mother in the court yard.Okeng had denied the charge and said the step mother and his children framed the story to keep him away from his mother.Ends
