Obey Husbands, MP Tells Women

PALLISA woman MP Jennifer Namuyangu has said the women empowerment policy should not be used to disobey husbands.

By Jonathan AnguraPALLISA woman MP Jennifer Namuyangu has said the women empowerment policy should not be used to disobey husbands.She said it should instead be a tool to enable them work together with men to improve their families’ socio-economic welfare and development.She said there has developed a tendency of some women abusing the policy and becoming big-headed towards their husbands which has led to some marriages breaking down. Namuyangu was addressing a rally during a be-lated celebration of the Women’s Day in the district held at Pallisa Boma grounds on Saturday. She announced that UWESO would extend its operations to all sub-counties and villages in the area and commended the district authorities for including women activities in the budget.ends
