Bachelor of LawThe posts are in the Academic and Administration departments of the UniversityA. Administrative Posts1. Academic Registrar (1 post)i. Qualifications: A Ph.D. or good Masters Degree from a recognised Institutionii. Experience: in management of an academic or similar institution, good interpersonal relations and a demonstrated high degree of personal integrity.iii. Duties: the Academic Registrar will be responsible for administration of all academic matters of the university including examinations, undergraduate and post-graduate studies and research.2. Assistant Academic Registrar (2 posts)i. Qualifications: A Masters' Degree or an Honours' Bachelors' degree.ii. Experience: in office management, accountability, documentation and a high degree of personal integrityiii. Duties: Under the supervision of the Academic Registrar, the Assistant Academic Registrars will be responsible for preparation and distribution of application forms and admission letters, documentation, academic records and any other such duties as directed by the Academic Registrar.3. University Bursar (1 post)i. Qualifications: A Masters' Degree or an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or possession of ACCA, CPA.ii. Experience: in financial management, accounting and office management for at least 3 years.iii. Duties: The Bursar will be responsible for the financial planning and general administration of the finances of the university and shall maintain the accounts in such form and manner as may be determined by the University Council.4. University Engineer (1 post)i. Qualifications: A Higher or an Honours Bachelor’s Degree, or a Higher Diploma in Civil Engineeringii. Experience: In estate development and management with at least 3 years experience.iii. Duties: Will be responsible for the planning of civil works, construction of structures and general maintenance and rehabilitation of university assets and shall maintain updated inventory or records of all university assets in such a form and manner as may be determined by the University Council.B. Academic Staff PostsBased on the courses the university is offering this year, the following academic staff are required.1. Professor (8 posts)i. Qualifications: A Ph.D. or its equivalent from a recognised university,ii. Experience: 8 to 10 years of teaching and research; at least 8 recognised recent publications in one's area of specialisation and evidence of good contribution and service to the community.iii. Duties: Will be responsible for the promotion of the knowledge of his/her subject by his/her own original work through teaching and research; accept the duties of examiner and generally assisting in the business of the university by serving on committees and in other ways appropriate to a university.2. Associate Professor (8 posts)i. Qualifications: Ph.D. or its equivalent from a recognised universityii. Experience: 5 to 8 years of teaching and research; at least 5 recognised recent publications in one's area of specialisation; and evidence of good contribution and service to the community.iii. Duties: Will be responsible for the promotion of the knowledge of his/her subject by his/her own original work through teaching and research; accept the duties of examiner and generally assisting in the business of the university by serving on committees and in other ways appropriate to a university.3. Senior Lecturer (16 posts)i. Qualifications: A Ph.D. or good Masters' degree from a reputable University.ii. Experience: At least 3 years of teaching and research in a University or its equivalent; and at least 3 recognised recent publications in one's area of specialisation.iii. Duties: Giving such courses of lectures and demonstration and conducting such tutorial and practical classes as may be determined by the Head of Department; be responsible for the promotion of knowledge of his/her subject by his/her own original work; acceptance of the duties of examiners; and generally assisting in the business of the university in such ways as may be expected in a university.4. Lecturer (32 posts)i. Qualifications: A Ph.D. or good Masters' Degree from a reputable Universityii. Experience: Have a teaching and research experience.iii. Duties: Giving such courses of lectures and demonstration and conducting such tutorial and practical classes as may be determined by the Head of Department; be responsible for the promotion of knowledge of his/her subject by his/her own original work; acceptance of the duties of examiners; and generally assisting in the business of the university in such ways as may be expected in a university.
