Lira district local government has asked all Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating in the district to submit their work plan and budgets for the next three years so that it can be integrated in he district development plan, reports Joe Erem Oyie. The district is in the process of reviewing and rolling its three-year development plan, which is expected to integrate all development initiatives in the district, sub-counties and NGOs.According to the district economist and planner, Mr. Patrick Ogwal Okumish, the integration is intended for optimal utilisation of the available meagre resources without duplication. He observed that most NGOs, some of them briefcase, do not want to reveal their work plans and funding to the district authorities. He said that this has often resulted in duplication of resources during implementation. The major NGOs in the district which have been approached to submit their work plans are UWESO, Uganda Society for the Disabled Children (USDC), Concerned Parents Association, CPAR, DETREC, CCF, CCCU, Lango Diocese, Lira Diocese and all nations Christian centre.Ends
