By Nicholas KajobaFORMER President Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa has said he misses the presidency because he was forcefully removed from the office.“I was removed from the presidency when I was still enjoying it. I still miss it,’’ Binaisa said.Binaisa was among the dignitaries who turned up for celebrations of the 90th birthday of Canon Polycarp Kakooza on Sunday at Gaba Beach hotel.Binaisa, 82, said many Baganda have acquired huge loans from commercial banks and have been forced to sell their land to non-Baganda.“Why should you sell your land to non-Baganda? This will make the Kabaka and the Mengo government lose power,’’ Binaisa said amid chanting from the gathering.Binaisa, who celebrates his birthday on May 30, plans to launch a volunteer movement in Buganda to bring more people to offer free services to the disadvantage people. He, however, said his teaching at Blessed primary school, Mutundwe, is part of his family tradition of volunteerism.“We should all encourage volunteerism if Buganda and Uganda are to develop. We need to help the Kabaka by initiating programmes that are geared at fighting poverty,” Binaisa told the gathering.Ends
