UHRC Dismisses Rwanyarare Arrest Case With Costs

DR. James Rwanyarare, the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Presidential Policy Commission chairman, has lost a case in which he claimed he was arrested at Entebbe Airport and his property confiscated, reports Solomon Muyita.

Rwanyarare and his lawyer, Flavia Zeija, were absent at the judgement.Rwanyarare claimed Internal Security Organisation officers detained him at the airport on October 8, 1998, and later took his belongings in a brief case.He was on his way to the United Kingdom where he was to deliver a keynote address at the invitation of Amo International Club.Ends
