Iguru Give-Away Date Set

The Omukama of Bunyoro, Solomon Gafabusa Iguru, is slated to marry his long-time fiancée, Margaret Karunga, on June 26, reports Emmanuel Mulondo.The New Vision has learnt that arrangements for the give-away ceremony are in high gear in Kyenjojo. Karunga is a Mutoro.According to the budget drawn by the family of Mr. Swizin Muganda, the bride’s father, the function is to cost sh10,907,000.Meetings have been taking place in Kyenjojo, Kabarole and Kampala to raise funds.The function will take place in Karwenyi village, Mpara sub-county, Kyaka county in Kyenjojo.According to the tentative programme, the Omukama will leave Hoima for Karwenyi on June 25 for a feast and other traditional rituals that accompany the give-away ceremnoy.The following day, the bridal entourage will leave for Hoima town for the wedding and reception.Ends
