Musician Sarah Birungi Is Dead

By Vision ReporterPOPULAR local musician Sarah Birungi of Iro Stars Band is dead.The female singer died yesterday at about 4:00pm at a house in Maganjo-Mawu zone where she had been living of late. The house belongs to her fellow male musician, Prince Paul Kafeero of Kulabako Guitor Singers.“We had just finished our lunch then she started complaining of heart complication and immediately went to bed to have a rest where she died,” her friend, Joyce Katende said.Birungi had just been discharged after an operation at Mirembe Medical Centre on Entebbe Road after a motor accident in Arua last October 2001 where she had gone to perform.She was reported to have proceeded for a musical show immediately after she was discharged.Birungi on Saturday watched the play, ‘Star Trouble’ of The Ebonies at Kawempe, but left at 1:00am, saying she was unwell. Katende said Birungi’s condition worsened on Monday night.Ends
