3 Jailed Over Sh300m Army Fraud

TWO civilians and a UPDF soldier accused of defrauding the defence ministry of over sh300m in fake blanket deal, were yesterday charged with embezzlement.

Grace Lutaya of Bombo Army General Headquarters, are charged with conspiring to steal the money.They appeared before Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Charles Serubuga. They denied the charges and were remanded in Luzira Prison until June 27. The magistrate told hem to apply for bail in the High Court as his court had no jurisdiction over embezzlement and causing financial loss, bailable by the High Court.Ends
