Not ‘mivumba’!

SIR— President Museveni has shown remarkable and exemplary leadership. As a result Uganda is one of the beneficiaries of AGOA. However, by increasing taxes on mivumba (second-hand clothes and shoes), the President is increasing the level of poverty indirectly instead of reducing it. Many business men will run out of business and people living below the poverty-line will move naked and bare-foot. How will such people afford a cloth of sh5,000? Bruvieam Oringtho, Nebbi
