By Cyprian Musoke and Caleb BahikahoTHE Government has increased funding for Nyakibaale Hospital in Rukungiri district to help the hospital cope with the increasing number of patients. The Minister for Health, Brig. Jim Muhwezi, said this recently at the pass out of over 60 nurses trained by Karoli Lwanga Hospital school of nursing and midwifery.Last year, the hospital got over sh233m and will next financial year get over sh310m.Muhwezi said the Government increased the funds because over 100,000 people die of fever each year. “Most of the poor people cannot afford cost sharing so we are going to provide free services. We will operate the private wings for those who can afford,” he said.Muhwezi emphasised the need for training comprehensive nurses to offer their services even outside the country. Ends
